Homework

Homework is due the minute class begins.

If it is late, ten points will be subtracted for each day that it is late. 

After two or three lates, a lunch detention will be given to ensure that the homework gets done.  It is your child's responsibility to write down his/her homework each day before class begins.

Tests and Quizzes

Students will be notified one day before quizzes, and at least two days before tests. 

Study guides are not given for quizzes, but they are given for tests.

Occassionally, pop quizzes are given.  These are not announced in advance.

Students in sixth grade through eighth grade are required to get a test or quiz signed by their parents for grades below a 70.

Ninth grade students are not always required to get tests or quizzes signed by a parent.  It is the parent's responsibility to moniter their child's grades.

Field Trips

Every student is required to have a signed permission slip before attending a field trip.

Projects

Students will be given a requirement sheet and rubric.

They will be notified about the upcoming project more than three weeks before it is due.  

  Classroom Rules:

  1. Be on time to class.  Late comers may have to stand for a time.
  2. Raise your hand before speaking.
  3. Check the board for homework and write it down in your assignment pad.
  4. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  5. Put science equipment away and clean up your area before leaving the classroom.
