As part of our unit on learning about COMMUNITIES we learned some things about how to read and how to make maps. We learned to read the legend on a map to see what all the symbols mean. We then used a legend to create our own maps of different communities. If you look closely, you will see that there are many houses, stores, restaurants and roads on our maps. Some have hospitals, fire stations and parks with rivers or ponds. The kids worked alone or with a partner to make their maps and they did a REALLY GREAT JOB! |
